Date: Sat, 28 Mar 2020 13:38:11 +0000 (UTC) From: Mike Simmons Subject: It was always about the bets 110 I was up early and considered running before meeting Sam and then decided on coffee and the paper. All that bored me and I went back to my room. I was looking at my English paper and thought damn, that's me, that's who I am, I got this. Just then my phone rang and it was Sam saying, where the fuck are you? I said I'm on my way. We drove to the gym and sam took off his sweat suit and I thought shit he is no little runt. I stripped to underwear and put on baggy gym shorts and no shirt and started to work out, keeping an eye on Sam. He was working out hard and I stopped and looked at him closely. He was bigger, I would say 5'11" about 175 or so and I noticed no hair on his legs and not much anywhere. Well there was the mop on his head, which was controlled by a head band. I looked closer and there was no facial hair. He reminded me of myself at 15. We finished the workout and I said Sam grab a towel, strip and let's hit the sauna. We went in the sauna and I took a seal opposite him. I said, Sam please do me a favor and drop the towel and stand up. He shrugged and did as requested. Looking closely I saw a bush and a cock bigger than I expected. He saw me looking and said 6" hard and I laughed and said, I didn't care. I asked, how much have you grown and he said half an inch in the last month and 5 pounds and I'm starving all the time. I laughed and said, let's hit the shower. In the shower, I was looking at him again and I thought damn he is me at 15. We dried off and I said, Sam I bet you are hungry and he said Mike don't bet and I thought shit. He put the sweat suite back on and I noticed no underwear. We got in the car and drove to Eat N Park. He ordered the buffet and juice and I ordered coffee and eggs over, toast and sausage. While we were waiting for the food I asked, Sam tell me about the bets? He said, Mike it was innocent and now it isn't. I laughed and said no shit and it gets more intense. I said Sam, it could become sex of various flavors. He laughed and said no shit. I haven't had sex with a girl yet and have fucked and been fucked by a guy. I said dude, you need rules and he said condoms always. I said great. I said Sam, your workouts are showing results, you should start running on days you don't workout. Then I said, Sam looking at you there will be a big growth spurt, it will continue until until you have a big bush, hairy arm pits and a happy trail. He said what? I said a patch of hair from your button to your cock, so that girls can follow the trail to your cock. You will be starving and your hormone will be raging. My food came and he returned from the buffet and started to eat like it was his first meal in days. He said Mike, can you and I ever bet? I said in due time but before I'm 18 as that birthday changes everything. He smiled and said great. I paid for breakfast, took him home and stopped in and visited Carrie. We went in the game room and sat and talked. I told her about my day and that I had decided that we could both go to VT if that's where she wanted to go. That I was set on one year and if I didn't start, I would transfer to CMU, but they would not know that. She said what about me and I said babe that's up to you. Babe, it's always about what you want, If you stay at VT that's cool and I will visit often. Let's let it be what it becomes. We kissed and I went home and spent an hour in my room. Dad came in and asked what he should expect and I said dad, I'm good and when the Major shows up call me and we will all talk, I'm finalizing that and it is a yes to VT and a revised program. He said fine and went down stairs. I sat quietly developing my approach and decided to concentrate on Coach Conn and I would start by asking how JJ was and realized that the Major was in a tough spot and I would help with that. I would invoke rule one. I was rereading my paper when dad called me saying I had company. Downstairs there was Coach Conn and Coach B and the Major was entering. I went up to Jim and said, rule one. He said what? I said no talking is rule one. He laughed and said, I got it. I said sorry about that, I believe you know Major Messer, he works for me, so how was JJ today, I have not seen him since Friday night. Coach Conn said so is there anything you don't know? I said there are lots of things I don't know, but I had this figured out as soon as dad told me about this meeting. Then Coach B said so Mike where are you now after last weeks setback. I looked at him and said, Coach, I need a minute, please be patient. I went upstairs, opened my new file cabinet and retrieved my written VT offer and went back downstairs. I handed the package to Coach B and asked, do you want this back? He said, absolutely not and placed it on the table. I smiled and said well let's make sure. Then I asked dad if I could borrow his car? Dad nodded and said coaches and Major, let's go for a ride. This won't take long but it's important. We piled into dads car and drove to the site. Nothing was goin on but there was more progress than I expected. I looked at the coaches and said guys this is what really drives me, this project. I said, the order is dad and Carrie, this project, academics then football, can you live with that? Then I added the same work ethic you saw last year in high school. There was no response for longer than I was comfortable with and finally Coach B said Mike, walk with me? We started off towards the river and he said, Mike I have never coached a kid like you before, understand, you will need to work your ass off. I said coach, that's me, in all that, those things I mentioned are all vitally important almost equally. So you good? He said yes and I guess I just joined you expanding circus and we both laughed. Then I looked at him and I said, I promise no drama, well as little as possible. Then I said, one more thing, academics? Comp. Sci. classes as I choose, on line from CMU and in person at VT. Graduate in 3 years and a masters from CMU while I play for you. Oh, no pro football. He shook his head and said, deal. We drove home and I picked up the offer and said Coach, last chance? He shook his head and I said, thanks Carrie and I will be down soon. We all shook hands and the coaches left. The Major said, Mike please don't say anything to the media, I'll send something out first thing tomorrow. I said thanks and dad appeared with drinks and we sat and chatted. I had time so I went upstairs and called JJ. He answered saying so how were the coaches? I said good but some work to do on academics, he laughed and said some work here as well. So JJ where are you? He said VT but taking every trip I can and I laughed. So JJ you lost a bet Friday, we are going to find out if bets in Texas are more disgusting than here. I'm going to really work you over. I said, so what are the limits and he laughed and said animals. I laughed and said game on, I'll let you know. I called Carrie and told her we were back on at VT unless she had other ideas, she said fuck no and I love you but I'm working. I laughed and said I love you good night. I called Jim and said dude I'm back with VT it was a struggle but I got what I wanted academically and they are aware of my football ask, without acknowledging that they know. I thanked him again for the company and told him that I bought that house, it was my only good memory with mom and Bill. He laughed and said, did you use petty cash? I laughed and said, even dad thought it was a good investment. He said, Mike I would like to watch JJ's task. So Jim, I gave you a pass you taking it? He said no. Downstairs dad asked so Mike is your room clean and free of smells. I said really dad? The Major said, Mike let's talk about the next thing? We went upstairs, he looked around and said this is perfect for the interview. I asked, why is that? Your room is the same as the building, a glass desk, a steel file cabinet and an aluminum desk frame. I handed Major the paper and said I'll be back. I gave him 20 minutes and went back in and he said so how much of this will you reveal? I said the first half and he said why not all? I said that would be revealing my heart. He said, I get that you are ready, they all told me not to worry and I see now what they meant. I said thanks. Major, it is none of my business but where is JJ with college? He said anywhere but an academy. He will decide and be disappointed that I won't fight the choice, whatever it is. Mike, you are good for him and I like how he can't figure you out and yet I think you are very predictable. Well you do make a mess getting where and what you want. The broadcast crew came at 4:30 and set up in my room. The editor came a few minutes later and we went upstairs. We chatted some and dad and the Major were standing in the room. Then he asked if I was ready, I replied sure. The lights went on and..... Editor: so Mike can we ask about school? Mike: Sure, nice easy start. Editor: What classes do you take and what are your grades like? Mike: I think my grades are excellent and I am first or second in my class depending on when you check. I take AP English, history and advanced math and an online math course at CMU. Editor: that must keep you busy? Mike: It does but I work hard. Editor: What about sports? Mike: Well I run almost every day, workout 4 or 5 times a week and play football. Editor: Mike that's a pretty generic answer considering the year you had and all the publicity. Mike: Well football is just part of what I do, however I simply love to run and workout. Editor: Mike you have a reputation in interviews of saying a lot and nor revealing much, is that the case today? Mike: To a degree yes but I'll answer all your questions and if you need more push back, most reporters don't. Editor: Is there someone special in your life besides your dad? Mike: There are a lot of special people in my life, I have a very serious girlfriend, please move on. My personal relationships will remain just that. Editor: Mike you are an accomplished high school football player with a lot of scholarship offers. You quickly committed to VT and lately pulled back, why? Mike: I thought this was a business interview? However, there was a disagreement over academics. I expected more in that area than they are used to. A deeper explanation will be in your paper tomorrow, can we please move on? Editor: Sure Mike, so how is the building progressing? Mike: Actually, I was there this morning and things are going smoothly. I'm looking to get this done in a very quick manner. We have NASA people to move in and that temporary space is being furnished late next week. Editor: I understand that there are issues with the architect, can you elaborate? Mike: No, I can't. We are negotiating a solution. My team is very good and we pay attention to details and contract language. I'm confident that things will work out and I'm looking forward to a long term relationship with Jorden and Jodie. Weather it is with the existing firm or a different path. Editor: Mike, can you elaborate on the funding in your Trust? Mike: I thought you knew better than to ask about that? The Trust was funded by my dad and controlled by my attorney, my dad and me. We vote on everything and the votes are usually 2-1 votes but we don't fight. That all ends on my 18th birthday when I become the wealthiest teenager in Allegheny county. My team is very young and yet very good. It will grow and be more varied in age and gender. Editor: Mike, you said to push back, so what do you estimate you net worth might be? Mike: Well that's a big push and as a guess there is about 2 million in property, there are investments, the house in the Outer Banks and cash. Then the income to Enterprises. As a guess a little less than 9. Editor: Million? Mike: Well, I tried to convert it to the Pound but was out voted 2 to 1. Then I laughed. Editor: So Mike, who is your hero? Mike: My dad we heave a very special relationship and I'm treated like an adult, but my business hero is Andrew Carnegie. He was a giant in industry and did more than most people for this region both in business and charity. Editor: WOW, that surprises me, he was ruthless and very anti-union. Mike: Well if you look closer, he was a lot of things, a man of his times describes him best and a very successful one. I would describe myself as a very modern and enlightened version of him. It's like football, knock your opponent into next week, help him up and move to the next thing. Editor: WOW, that's more than you have ever let out about your approach to business. Mike: That's my approach to school, business and sports, that's who I am. Editor: What are the plans for the other plot of land on Second Avenue? Mike: Keep the weeds under control until I'm ready for phase two. Yes, there is a plan. Editor: What would it take to get a clue? Mike: About six weeks. And again I laughed. Editor: I see we are back to little information, how will you do this and be 6 hours away in Blacksburg? Mike: With a very good team, lots of communication and I thought VT was two hours away? Editor: Mike are you telling me you have a private plane? Mike: Not yet. Editor: Why you doing all this when you could just relax, play football and go to school? Mike: Well the short answer is because I can, but I know that won't work for you. This region led the country for a very long time and now it doesn't. We are not now, nor have we been for a long time the steel capital of the country. It's time we move in a new progressive direction. We have the best Colleges and Universities and an outstanding health care system, it's time to move on and I have this dream that we can lead in technology. The building blocks are there I'm just building another level. I take chances and work hard and always have a plan B. I'm confident, driven and excited. I'm just a budding enlightened entrepreneur with lofty goals, a wicked imagination and the balls to get things done. I can be very inclusive but there should always be a win. Editor: Mike, you have a very interesting room can you tell me about it, especially the desk and the only picture in the room. Mike: Well the picture is me and my best friend and wingman and QB1 walking off the field after our semi-final win. I wish it was of the finals, but I was in the hospital, I think. I'm looking for another picture with one or two more people and a matching metal. As for the room, it is very new and doubles as an office and a bedroom. It is all custom and Carrie helped pick it out. It is designed to be moved into my office in the new building and reflects the building design, glass, steel and aluminum. I told you earlier, I believe in the history of this region and how it will lead us into the future. This room is a constant reminder of that goal. Editor: Mike, who is Carrie? Mike: Well she is that very serious girlfriend I mentioned earlier. Before you ask, serious is a poor word, extremely might be better as would sole mate. She is bright, very bright and we are already a great team. Editor: One last question, what happens if this does not work out like you plan? Mike: Well I guess I won't be a spoiled rich kid, but I damn well will land on my feet. However, I hope I will be perceived as a spoiled rich punk for a while longer. It helps being considered that way. By the way there is always a plan B. Thanks for your time. Editor: Mike this was fun, I hope we can do it again? I showed the Editor out and let the crew wrap up and dad and the Major and I went to dads office. I got a hug from the Major and thought, where the fuck did that come from. I poured a scotch and sat down. I said Major if you want beer it's in the refrigerator. He said thanks and went and returned with a beer. Then he said, damn you were interviewed for say 30 minutes and revealed one paragraph of note worthy information. I laughed and said, of course. Now, if you will excuse me I have about an hour of school work, good night. The Major said not so fast, I stopped and said now what? Mike, why the drama with VT? I said, Jim I lost it for a few days over Bill. Ok, so what did you and Coach B talk about at the site? I said what he could expect from me and what I needed from him. So what did you need from him? I said some sort of admission that I was different and that he understood that. Then a silent acknowledgement about Moses in a diaper. Dad said what? Dad I was told the last time a true freshman started at linebacker at VT Moses was in a diaper, that is a goal and coach knows it. So now can I get some school work done? Upstairs it was math, math and more math and it was a real mental challenge and I loved it. Then about 8:00 I realized I was starving and went looking for food. On the table, I saw a note from dad. It said, Mike thanks for a great day and look in the refrigerator. In the refrigerator there was a rack of ribs and a giant salad and reheating instructions. I turned on the oven, put the ribs in and went looking for dad, not finding him, I guess he was at the club and called to make sure. He answered asking what's up? I said thanks for dinner and don't be late, I love you. I found the paper and poured iced tea and sat reading the sports. There was an article about the upcoming tournaments and we were mentioned as the team to watch and Rob as a game changer for our school and the new successful basketball program. There was mention of weather this was a program developing or simply a special class. Just then my phone rang and it was Jim. I said wingman, it great to hear from you, what's up? He said, you didn't know the VT coaches just left? Jim, honest I had no clue, but should have. You see they were with JJ and then me, so a visit to you was natural. How did it go? Mike, they said they were just checking in, however I think they wanted info on you and JJ. You really had them spooked. I laughed and said had or still? He said both. They are all in with you on most levels but you scare them as uncontrollable. I said, Jim that's perfect. Oh, by the way, I'm giving JJ an interesting task to do tomorrow in school. Any hints, yes it will happen at lunch and you fucking owe me. He laughed and said good night. With that I spent time on History and Spanish and finally I put everything away and was looking forward to a very normal week at school and a basketball game. It was warmer, so I cracked the window and climbed into bed naked and covered up. Comments are encouraged as this is my first story.
